Here’s a fun question to ponder on a Friday: if you had a billion US dollars, how would you spend it? For many of us (myself included), it’s hard to imagine possessing that much money. But if you were a bona fide billionaire, how would you spend the money? Read on for my thoughts on this question.

I’m going to keep this short and sweet and not even post it to my blog roll on my web page. If I won a billion dollars, I would, one, invest it in socially responsible stock so that it might continue on into perpetuity; and then I would give just about all of it away to NGOs around the world: Mercy Corps, Doctors Without Borders, Action Against Hunger, et cetera. And I’d pay everyone’s college debt. And I’d pay to help get solar on every roof in the country. I do have four children and, now, three grandchildren. I would set them each up with a mere $100,000 each, but the rest I would give provide in ways that help our planet and the less fortunate.
