What is something you learned recently?

    1. Recently I learned the difference between myself and others. I found myself more trustworthy, honest, peaceful and happy….what others are not or cannot give me. I learned that I am contended and joyful more with myself than what others can make me. I learned that my percentage is more in my life than others…….This means both myself and others make me a complete self….how exciting this learning is 😊

  12. We accumulate lessons learned in order to add even more to what we have already built. But there is one lesson in particular that I wanted to highlight.

  18. It was a tiring day but also very fulfilling. I learned to make a dinner triangle and a striker out of two pieces of metal. How to heat the material, how to pound it, twist it and bend it. I learned how to build the fire and how much patience is needed.

    A Lesson Learned

Something I learned recently is that a lot of people in Mexico are dying from diabetes caused from drinking too much Coca-Cola. I found it interesting that the Coca-Cola company was able to find a clean water source to run its factory but not to hep its citizens. The citizens said that the cost of water compared to Coca-Cola was about the same and I too would probably buy a soda over a water. I watched a Youtube video that informed me of all this and it was shocking. My response to the diabetes crisis is that Coca-Cola should not be allowed to manufacturer their product in a country without contributing to solving to the clean water crisis. Its legal drug dealing. Sugar is the drug and customers are the addicts. Its even more of an uneven playing field because they don’t have access to clean water to begin with. Coca-Cola should be advertising the benefits of drinking water too not just soda. Part of the problem is personal responsibility and the other is economic. So it will take efforts from both to make an improvement on the silent crisis.

    1. oh noooooo. This breaks my heart because I love coca cola! I had no idea it had made so many lovely people so unwell 😦 I’d better try healthier things.

    1. Hahahah that’s a good lesson! What does 40 love mean?

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Oh feel I’m back at school LOL. So does it go 40 for each player and then the next person to win next gets ADV listed. Bit lost after that

      2. You’re ahead of me, Storyteller. I still don’t know how the scoring works.

      3. So 40 love means 1 person is on 40 and the other on 0. If both people on 40 then it is called deuce. The next win becomes ADV and if the same person wins again they get the point…phew! Just advised by someone who plays tennis. Thinking it might take me a little longer than I thought to learn it😫🤣

  21. I’ve learned that if you are messy, then personal hygiene isn’t a priority for you, chances are very good that you are very high in intelligence.
The reasoning is this. The higher your IQ the more likely your ability to be super focused on whichever task you’re working on. This means that everything else around you becomes inconsequential. Even eating takes a back seat to what you’re doing at that moment.
I can personally attest to that because I have Asperger’s. Having Asperger’s means my intelligence is pretty up there. Plus, it also means that, with most things in my life, I’m usually razor-focused on the task at hand.
I’m a writer. The last thing I want to do is stop writing to clean the house, take a shower or comb my hair. These things are not important.
I do the minimum when it comes to cleaning my place. I got better things to do. I’m not going to expend any more energy than I have to.
Another way to look at it is this way. When I invite people over to my place and they notice what a sloppy cleaner I simply mention to them, “This is proof that I’m a genius!”

    1. It’s interesting to hear the point of view of a writer with Aspergers. I worked for about 3 years with a man with aspergus and I was always in awe of how he could concentrate on his computer and tasks without being distracted by the general office silliness going on around him. This explains a lot.

      1. Yes, it certainly helps to be mental giants such as us!🤪I love teaching others about what it’s like being a mental genius with Asperger’s🤪
For one, Asperger’s is not a disorder of disability. I’ve made it my mission to teach people about being on the spectrum and break the many fallacies and myths regarding it.
Being different is not equal to being disabled.
My blog talks about my living with Asperger’s.
I am dealing with mental illness as well, but that has absolutely nothing to do with being on the spectrum. My mental illness stems from the physical, sexual, and psychological abuse I suffered from that began in my infancy. I also am dealing with the multiple concussions I sustained in my childhood. I’m still dealing with the trauma as a result. I’m also working to dispel the many myths surrounding it.
Could I bother you to check my blog out? I would be honored if you did. I’m writing my memoir and this blog allows me to have a space where I can reflect and expound more deeply on these subjects, as well as share them with others,

      3. Thank you, Janet! I really appreciate that! It’s important that I raise awareness. At the very least, I try to mention it in conversation whenever it’s relevant, of course. That way I’m doing my part to normalize it and take away the fear and mystery behind it. Have a great one and thank you for showing an interest!

  27. […] What is something you learned recently? I’ve been talking to a new co-worker who says he is “on the spectrum”. He is quite fascinating, and although his brain is a rabbit hole, he has been teaching me a lot about people with autism and different personalities just from our conversations. I know a few people who demonstrate these personality traits and now that I have a better understanding I feel like I can deal with them better. […]
